Frequently Asked Questions
Technical insights on Youtube availability, multi-probe outage detection, and network diagnostics.
Is Youtube down for everyone or just me?
DownCheck continuously measures youtube.com from three independent autonomous networks. When all probes return status 200 OK and healthy DNS resolution, Youtube is fully operational globally. If your device cannot connect while our probes succeed, the issue is within your local device, router, or ISP.
How does DownCheck test Youtube?
Unlike complaint-counting tools, DownCheck sends actual synthetic network requests: (1) a direct HTTP/TLS request measuring response latency and SSL validity, (2) a Cloudflare Edge probe via AS13335, and (3) four parallel DNS queries across Google, Cloudflare, Quad9, and OpenDNS. All results combine into a consensus verdict with a confidence percentage.
Why does DownCheck report 90% or 97% confidence instead of 100%?
No third-party synthetic monitor can guarantee 100% certainty due to CDN edge variance and regional ISP anomalies. DownCheck calculates honest mathematical confidence based on multi-probe consensus — a 90%+ score means the service is almost certainly operational.
Where can I check official status updates for Youtube?
Visit the official Youtube website (youtube.com) or their verified support channels for authoritative incident announcements and scheduled maintenance. DownCheck provides independent third-party monitoring only.
