1. Use of Service

DownCheck is a free service. You may use it for personal or commercial purposes to check the reachability of websites and online services. No account or registration is required. By using DownCheck, you agree to these terms.

2. Results are informational only

DownCheck provides availability checks based on network probes run from Cloudflare’s edge infrastructure. Results are best-effort and reflect global reachability at the time of the check — not your local network conditions.

A result of “Up” means the service responded to our probes — it does not guarantee the service is fully functional (e.g., login, payments, or API endpoints may still be broken). A result of “Down” reflects global unreachability from our probe locations and may not reflect conditions on your specific network.

3. No guarantee of uptime

DownCheck is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantee that the service will be available at all times. Scheduled maintenance, infrastructure issues, or third-party failures (including Cloudflare outages) may cause temporary unavailability of DownCheck itself.

4. Prohibited use

You may not use DownCheck to:

• Conduct automated scraping or bulk API calls that place unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
• Probe targets in a manner that violates those targets’ own terms of service.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or reverse-engineer the service for competitive intelligence gathering at scale.
• Use results to make false or misleading public claims about the availability of third-party services.

We reserve the right to rate-limit or block access from IP addresses that violate these restrictions without prior notice.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DownCheck and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — or from reliance on results provided by the service. This includes but is not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunity.

6. Third-party services

DownCheck monitors third-party websites and services for reachability. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any commercial relationship with any of the 2,675+ services we monitor. Brand names and logos remain the property of their respective owners. Use of brand names on DownCheck is purely descriptive (nominative fair use) to identify the services being checked.

7. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting to this page. Continued use of DownCheck after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
